Trained at the New York City School of the Arts and continuing his work at the San Diego School of the Creative And Performing Arts, Césaire José Carroll-Domínguez is a filmmaker, actor, writer, and artist. His recent projects include the digital art piece Mapping San Diego and the short Regulate TikTok. He has contributed to performances by the art collective *particle group.* His work has appeared with or in Crossed Lines and Imagined Theatres (the other balcony per Genet). His photography and film have received several awards, Including IVIE awards in 2021 and 2022. One of his films, Chicano Park: A Cinematic Poem, was an official selection of the 2022 San Diego Latino Film Festival. The first act of an historical play he is writing, 'Spreckles,' was a finalist for the MexiCali Biennial and was selected from an open competition to be one of three performances staged at the 2022 Beyond The Box performance art festival in Marfa, Texas, where it starred Roberta Colindrez (Girls, I Love Dick, Vida). Other work by Carroll-Domínguez have been exhibited in museums such as MCASD and MOPA. He currently is a fellow of the UCSD-sponsored Jacobs Youth Community Scholars program in which he is curating a digital art exhibition in response to police violence. He's also a member of the Outside The Lens Youth Council and was a 2022 summer fellow at the Reel Voices program. He has appeared in and directed numerous stage productions including Timon of Athens, Dog sees God, Theophilus North, Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night's Dream and most recently an award-winning production of Qui Neguyn's She Kills Monsters and Theater Of War's The Suppliants with Alfred Molina. He is 17 years old.
